After being elected president by fighting for his beliefs and the beliefs of his supporters such as the importance of cutting taxes, sealing the border, allowing abortion laws to be in the hands of the states, and many other controversial, crucial topics, Trump officially took office on Jan. 20 through his swearing-in ceremony, which was followed by a celebratory parade, musical performances, and formal balls.
Trump’s election victory, winning 312 to 226 electoral votes, was the best thing that has happened to our country in the past four years. Although Biden succeeded in keeping our country out of war during his term, he didn’t succeed in keeping most of the country on his side; he did quite the opposite. Biden’s approval ratings decreased almost as much as inflation increased while simultaneously embarrassing our country more than helping it, ruining our economy, and letting countless immigrants through the border.
Luckily, with Donald Trump as our new president, our country now has a hope and brightness that we haven’t seen in years.
With Trump being freshly inaugurated, one of the first things we can expect is a decrease in taxes. Trump seeks to extend the expiring provisions of the Tax Cuts and the Job Acts. In addition, he plans to further lower the corporate tax rate from 21 to 15 percent for corporations that make their products in America in an attempt to reduce revenue.
On top of improving our economy, Trump plans to prioritize mass deportations and sealing of the border by “launching the largest deportation program of criminals in the history of America,” he says. Already, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations apprehended 171 unlawful present noncitizens with pending charges or convictions for murder, homicide, or assault against children during a nationwide wide-law enforcement effort that ran Jan 16-28, 2024.
Trump also has plans to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, using tariffs to stop illegal immigration flows and fentanyl shipments across the U.S. border, and many more things.
In conclusion, with Trump as president, citizens of the United States of America live in a safer, more tolerant country overall.
