The Goodpasture Christian School basketball season ended with both the girls’ and boys’ teams making the elite eight.
While the girls’ season ended there, the boys went to State and played in the final four.
The girls’ season ended on Feb. 28, when they played an away game against the University School of Jackson Bruins. The score was close, at 50-46.
”I’m grateful for all the memories I made, and I’m sad it came to an end,” senior Addi Ruffin stated.
A high point of the season was when the girls were facing FRA at the Nashville Christian Tournament when sophomore Brooklyn Jones reached 1000 points.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to have reached 1000 points my sophomore season,” Brooklyn Jones said.
The boys won on March 1 against Harding Academy, which awarded them a spot in the final four at Tennessee Tech; the score was 82-64.
The boys’ final game was at Tennessee Tech on March 6, where they played against PCA and lost; the score was 76-70.
Another player, senior Jayden Jones achieved 2000 points in the game versus DCA.
“It was a great milestone to accomplish,” Jayden Jones said.
There were five seniors on the boys’ team.
“I made a lot of lifelong memories throughout the season and I’m going to miss the Goodpasture basketball program,” senior Daniel Whiteman said.
This is Coach Dustin Patton’s first time going to State while coaching Goodpasture boys’ basketball.
“I am thankful to get to be a small part of the 2024-2025 Goodpasture Basketball team. These young men gave it their all on the court and represented our school in such an incredible way off the court. Making the state final four was an incredible experience that I hope these young men will remember forever. I love this group of young men and am blessed to get to coach them!” Coach Patton said.
