Goodpasture put on the musical Dare to Dream Jr. on Nov. 8-9. Students from elementary school were included in the play along with middle and high schoolers.
Everyone thought it was an amazing play to witness from both behind the scenes and in the house.
“I thought it was a really great show,” freshman Georgia Page said. Her sister, sophomore Presley Page, was in the show singing a duet with sophomore Camilla Deunsing to “Just Around the Riverbend.”
She wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the show. Many of the backstage crew members loved it as well.
“It was pretty good,” junior Aiden Faulkner said. He wasn’t able to witness the show from the house but still had the experience from backstage. This was his first time being stage manager and his third show all together.
While the cast agreed it was an amazing play to put on, including the elementary students made the preparation process different than usual.
“It was a little hectic, but it was worth it because the show turned out great,” junior Taliyah Witherspoon said. This was her second show in total and first time being a style crew lead along with sophomore Wylder Smith.
Having a great time wasn’t the only thing that was put into this play. Hard-work and dedication from the Shockley’s, crew members, and cast members turned this show into an amazing production both behind and on the stage.
“This was the second best show from what I’ve done so far,” sophomore Lydia Misiak said. This was her fourth show doing sound crew.
The crew unanimously agreed that they had a good time when working behind the scenes.
“Yes I did,” Misiak replied when asked if she had fun doing the play. She was on sound crew leading into her fourth play.
Misiak and Witherspoon, along with many others, loved being a part of the musical as well. Behind the scenes was just a mess of fits and giggles with the kids. The parents helping out also had a fun time helping their kids with whatever they needed.
In the end, many people enjoyed the musical and the kids were said to have had a great time as well.
